Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is rizitz?
rizitz turns a photo of a receipt into a clean record of what you bought and what it cost — automatically categorized, searchable, and charted, so you always know where your money went.
Do I need to make an account?
You can look around as a guest, but you'll need a free account to scan receipts. Sign up with email, Google, or Apple to keep your history backed up and synced across phones. If you use email and a password, we'll send you a link to confirm your address before your first scan.
What kinds of receipts does it handle?
Grocery, hardware & garden, health & pharmacy, department stores, fashion, electronics, homeware, liquor, petrol & convenience, and pet supplies each get their own set of categories, so the breakdown actually fits what you bought.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Tap Forgot password? on the sign-in screen and enter your account email. We'll send you a reset link. If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder, since reset emails sometimes land there. Mark it as not spam so future emails from rizitz reach your inbox. Signed up with Google or Apple? There's no rizitz password to reset. Just sign in with Google or Apple again.
Billing & Plans
Is rizitz free?
Yes. The free plan includes 10 receipt scans every 30 days, your full receipt history and search, and spending insights for the last 30 days. Personal Pro raises that to 200 scans every 30 days plus all-time spending insights, PDF export, and priority support, from US$4.99/month or US$39.99/year in the United States. Prices are set per country (for example NZ$7.99/month in New Zealand), and the App Store shows yours in your local currency before you buy.
What currencies does it support?
Every ISO currency, with USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, NZD, and CAD pinned to the top of the list. Pick one in settings and every total, chart, and receipt uses it.
How do I cancel or change my plan?
Tap Manage subscription on the You tab, or go to your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Changes take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep Pro until then.
Is there a free trial?
No. The free plan is free forever, so you can try rizitz with 10 scans every 30 days, then upgrade to Personal Pro whenever you need more.
What happens when I run out of scans?
Your allowance resets 30 days after your current period started, not on the 1st of the month. Until then you can still view, edit, and share your existing receipts, or upgrade to Personal Pro for 200 scans every 30 days.
I got a new phone. How do I get Pro back?
Sign in with the same account, then go to Settings → Restore purchases. Your subscription is tied to your rizitz account, so it follows you across devices.
Your Data
What happens to my receipt photos?
Location and other photo metadata are stripped before upload. To read the receipt, the photo is sent through our servers to Anthropic, a third-party AI provider, which doesn't use it to train its models. The app asks for your permission before your first scan. If you save the receipt, the photo is stored securely against your account so you can look it up later. We don't sell your data or use it for ads.
Can I delete my data?
Delete any receipt at any time in the app, or go to You → Settings → Delete account to permanently remove your account and everything with it. If you signed in with Apple, you'll be asked to confirm with Apple, which also revokes rizitz's access to your Apple ID. Signing up again with the same email won't reset your free scans for the current 30-day period. If you're on Personal Pro, cancel your subscription in the App Store or Google Play too, since deleting your account doesn't stop billing.
Will it spam me with notifications?
No. rizitz doesn't send push notifications.
Using the App
What if it gets an item wrong?
Tap the item and pick the right category or fix the name — it takes a couple of seconds and only comes up when rizitz isn't confident.
Can I export or share my receipts?
Open any receipt and tap Share to send it as a PDF, on any plan. Personal Pro also adds Export, which saves the receipt as a PDF for your own records. You can save the original receipt photo back to your phone, too.
